Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime with whitewater rafting at Bala! Located in picturesque North Wales, the rapids of the River Tryweryn await you. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a first-time rafting enthusiast, there are plenty of exciting play spots for paddlers to explore. The River Tryweryn is a unique natural wonder, with its source in the Snowdonia National Park and flowing into the River Dee just beyond Bala, where our white water rafting company is based. Upstream from Bala, the Llyn Celyan Dam provides the perfect conditions for rafting with water being stocked in winter and released in regular quantities during the summer months. Our five-kilometre stretch of the Tryweryn has been graded as 2-4, which means you're in for a thrilling ride without risking your safety. The rapids are rated on a scale of 1-6, with grade 1 being gentle and grade 6 being un-runnable. With our middle-range standing, you'll experience just the right amount of exhilaration for all levels of rafters. Our experienced rafting hosts will be at the back of the raft, ensuring your safety and helping to steer you through the rocky sides of the river. You can trust them to keep you dry unless you're looking to get soaked, in which case they're up for the challenge too! As you navigate the river, you'll encounter plenty of drops and stoppers to keep you and your companions on your toes. From 'Long Left' to 'Bouncing Rock' and 'Dump Truck Eddy,' the challenges are endless. You'll need to navigate around overhanging trees, eddies, and swirling water for an unforgettable adventure.
