About the experience

If you're looking for a unique and exciting experience, you might want to check out the wind farm tours in Brighton. These tours take you up close to the impressive-looking off-shore wind turbines. You'll be accompanied by an experienced skipper who will tell you all about this incredible feat of modern engineering. The tour takes place on board the 38ft South Boats catamaran 'Brighton Diver II', which departs from Brighton Marina and heads out to the wind farm, located around nine miles off-shore. The wind farm covers a vast area of 72 square kilometers of sea and stretches 28kms east to west and 10kms from north to south. There are a total of 161 of these huge metal windmills rising 140m high out of the sea. The tours are designed to get you up close to the structures, so you can appreciate just how massive they really are and listen to the noise they make as they turn. During the two to three-hour wind farm tour, you'll learn loads of new facts about these impressive turbines before returning to the marina via Brighton seafront, rounding off your expedition on the sea.
