About the experience

Are you ready for an unforgettable adventure on a majestic tall ship? Look no further than the Moonfleet! Departing from Portland Marina, you'll sail along the breathtaking Jurassic Coast and witness stunning views of Dorset's famous beaches, coves, and cliffs. You can choose to participate in the sailing activities alongside the crew or simply sit back and enjoy the ride. The Moonfleet was first constructed as a cargo vessel in Holland during the 1930s. Since then, it has been converted into a sail training boat with the goal of making tall ship sailing accessible to all. And what better way to explore the open seas than on this magnificent vessel, with you becoming a part of the Moonfleet crew? During your four-hour sail, you'll even get to anchor near Durdle Door, the iconic limestone arch, which is a highlight for any tall ship sailor. And of course, no tall ship expedition is complete without a biscuit barrel and a kettle for making tea! The friendly atmosphere on board makes it easy to relax and enjoy the journey, whether you're swapping stories with Ken, a seaman who served in the Navy, spending time with Captain Scrummage, the ship's beautiful Black Labrador, or helping First Mate Brian drop the anchor in a secluded bay. So what are you waiting for? Book your tall ship sailing experience in Dorset today and create memories that will last a lifetime!
