About the experience

Cheese connoisseurs everywhere will be in their element on this special three hour cookery class, hosted by Ann Hood's Smart School at locations in Essex, Buckinghamshire and London, as you'll be making your very own artisan cheese and bread from scratch! Now, before you go investing in a herd of cows and specialist equipment - relax, because this is a course on which you'll be learning how to make small batch cheeses that can be easily made in your kitchen at home. In professional kitchens, you and your classmates will learn how to produce soft cheeses, using the best quality milk and the right temperatures. There's lots of different cheeses that are on offer to make, from tasty Mozzarella from Southern Italy (fabulous on a pizza or in a tomato and basil Caprese salad), the versatile Ricotta (a whey cheese that's excellent with spinach or mixed into cooking other meals), or the unique Paneer cheese from India, that's a fantastic accompaniment to your curries and spicy dishes. You'll also be making some delicious flavoured soft cheeses such as goat's cheese, using herbs, salt and chilli. You'll also discover how whey in the cheese making process can be used in bread making, and you'll also be making the perfect condiment for your cheese and bread and learning how to make chutney. The perfect treat for all you big cheeses out there!

  • All equipment required will be provided on the day
  • The recipes you create will be emailed to you within 24 hours after you have completed your class
