Step into the tower and take charge of the skies with this brilliant two hour Air Traffic Control simulator experience in Hampshire. It is the first experience of its kind in the UK, giving you the chance to see if you have the logic, focus and calm thinking needed to guide aircraft safely around a busy airport. Air traffic controllers deal with serious pressure every day. At places like London Heathrow there can be close to 90 aircraft movements an hour, with every arrival and departure needing careful coordination. Your job during this session is to keep everything running smoothly while making sure aircraft stay safely separated. The simulator itself is impressively realistic. Large HD screens recreate the view from the control tower across the airfield, including the apron, taxiways and runways. You will take your place in the controller’s chair wearing a headset, working from radar displays and proper controller workstations. Throughout the experience you will be guided by instructors who know the ATC environment. They will coach you through tasks such as issuing clearances, organising departures and sequencing arriving aircraft so that everything runs safely and on time. By the end of the session you will have experienced what life in the tower is really like. It is fascinating, surprisingly challenging and enormous fun for anyone curious about the world of aviation.
