What happens on a microlighting experience?
A microlighting experience gives you the chance to learn to fly in some of the most agile and responsive light aircraft around, under the guidance of a qualified and professional instructor.
What is the difference between a fixed-wing and flexi-wing microlight?
A fixed-wing microlight is closer to what you might think of as a traditional aeroplane, with solid wings, flight controls and a cockpit. A flexi-wing is a bit like a hang glider, but with a powerful engine attached to it, and it is more open and exposed to the elements, with control achieved by shifting weight whilst airborne.
Are microlight flying lessons good for beginners?
Microlights are very good for those who are beginning flying lessons, because they are very nimble and agile by their nature so they're very responsive and easy to fly.
How long does a microlight flying lesson last for?
It will usually state in the voucher how long your microlight flying lesson or experience is for, typically under the 'Duration' section in the voucher information.
What is the minimum age requirement for a microlight experience?
This will vary depending on the voucher booked, but on some of our microlight experiences, those as young as 14 years old can take part. You can find specific age information under the 'Suitable For' and 'Restrictions' sections of your chosen voucher.
