About the experience

Rock-step and kick-step your way into this fun and fast Lindy Hop lesson for two at workshops run in London! The ideal experience for two for those who are fans of Strictly Come Dancing, you’ll meet with the Swing Patrol team, who’ll take you through from beginner’s level how to do the Lindy Hop. It’s the signature Swing dance style, and you’ll be asked at the start of your session whether you would like to Lead or Follow. And as well as dancing with your own partner, you’ll dance with others as well - so you can learn to dance, boost your confidence and meet new people. Ticks all the boxes so far, right? Swing dancing is incredibly fun and high energy to do - not just because of the uplifting, brassy, jazzy music you’ll be dancing to, but the Lindy Hop is perhaps the most celebrated of all swing dances - and when it’s done right it looks spectacular. With fluid moves, aerials and Swingout choreography, it’s fairly easy for most people to pick up. Following six count and eight count patterns to the beat, you’ll start on your basic steps such as rock steps, kicks and triple steps, before progressing to learning a whole toolkit of more advanced steps to have in your armoury such as the Barrel Roll, Sugar Push and Pass-by to dance through a whole song. And these sessions really are ideal for novices - so all you need is some good flat shoes or plimsolls, bundles of enthusiasm and you’ll be ready to Hop to it!
