Exclusive One Hour African Drumming for up to Six

About the experience
Product ID: 12548
Bring the good vibes and feel the rhythm together on this fun and lively African drumming workshop for a group of up to six to enjoy! You'll be learning to play authentic African beats on traditional African djembe drums. These intricately designed and hand-made drums are played with your hands, and the harmony that comes from these when they're beat in time is truly remarkable and a most uplifting sound. It takes years of skill and practice to become what is known as a "djembefola" (or "master drummer"). But under the guidance of your own djembefolas, you'll get to learn and master basic bass tone and slap techniques to play African drums. The teaching on this one hour session is done in an easy to follow "call and response" style, so you're basically copying and repeating what the master drummer is doing. It's the perfect activity to do together with friends or family, plus you'll also get to learn a bit about the history of African drumming and just what a crucial role the djembe drum forms in the musical identity of Africa. Plus, going on this workshop will help directly fund the community-based not for profit project in Bethnal Green in East London that it's hosted at, to ensure its future survival for everyone to enjoy for years to come.
