What can I expect when I take an online course?
An online course experience will give you the opportunity to learn new skills, explore your interests and passions further, or try out new hobbies or pastimes that you may be interested in, all delivered online over tutorials.
Do I have to complete my online course at a specific time or schedule?
For the vast majority of our online courses, you won't need to be registered or aim to complete your course at a specific time or to a particular schedule, unless otherwise stated. In fact, many of our online courses are delivered in pre-recorded video sessions, with quizzes, assignments and further materials to pursue that you can browse and complete at your own pace.
Can I take my online course in my own home?
Yes - in fact, because the courses are all delivered online, you can take them from just about anywhere where you've got a good internet connection and can do your learning in a space where you are free from distractions.
What subjects can I take an online course in?
We have a wide variety of different topics and subjects you can choose from with our Online Courses. This includes cookery lessons in a variety of international cuisine styles, gardening courses that will teach you how to grow and cultivate your own plants and herbs, through to creative courses in writing, photography, art, upholstery and interior design.
Will I need any specific equipment for my online course?
You will usually be notified in the information on the voucher you want to book of any additional equipment you need to invest in prior to starting your course. Equally, if there is any equipment that is provided to you as part of your course, you will be supplied with this prior to beginning the course. You will also need a computer or tablet with a good internet connection, as well as any specific software such as video conferencing downloaded so you can access the sessions.
Will I be able to interact with other students on my online course?
Depending on the course voucher you book, you may be able to interact with students on your course to share your learning, for example, in group work or peer reviews. Details of how you can access these facilities will be outlined when you make the booking.
