If you and a loved one - or even friend or family member - have got a week or a few midweek days off coming up, but don't fancy the hassle of jetting out the country to get away from it all, then this peaceful weekday overnight stay in the Oxfordshire countryside may be just what you're after. You'll be staying at Weston Manor, a charming four star country house hotel deep in the heart of Oxfordshire, with good links to the A34 and M40, situated on the edge of the tranquil village of Weston-on-the-Green. It dates back to the 11th century, and its unique castle-like appearance, with period features such as wood panelling, lattice windows and grand staircases is offset by thoughtfully landscaped gardens of a former Abbey that was once here. The bedrooms are well equipped with every attention to detail taken care of, with crisp linen, comfortable seating areas, and even four poster beds in some of the rooms that really adds to the charm and grandeur of the place. Once you've checked in and left your bags in your room, you're free to go off and explore the local area - maybe popping into the pub for a drink, or relax in the cosy lounge area of the hotel. Your stay will also include breakfast the following morning, served in either the great hall, or the Georgian dining room that overlooks the gardens. All this, plus your stay also includes entry for two to the nearby stately home of Blenheim Palace, Winston Churchill's birthplace and the ancestral home of the Duke of Marlborough, as well as many fascinating artefacts and art, and gardens designed by Capability Brown.
