Learn to ride the waves like a total pro with this wakeboarding taster lesson in Brighton! Located at a wake park along the Hove waterfront just outside the city, it offers one of the most innovative wakeboard cable tow systems of its kind, in that it is a continuous wakeboarding loop, where you ride up, turn and then ride back down, as opposed to pylons in a square shape with challenging corners to negotiate - so it’s ideal for novices to get to grips with getting up and going on the board. Over the course of an hour, you’ll get to learn and master all the basics. You’ll begin on dry land to start, where an expert instructor will demonstrate how to get strapped to the board and bindings and what your best stance will be by establishing if you’re regular or goofy (don’t worry, it just means whether you have a left or right foot at the front of the board). Then it’s over to the specialist beginner’s wakeboard cable tow to get ready to launch. By the end of the session, you should have aced starts and riding in a straight line and taken to wakeboarding, well… swimmingly!
