The series takes viewers from her Northumberland & City Police HQ to crime scenes on windswept moors, isolated farmhouses, rugged beaches and traditional fishing villages. Each location adds atmosphere, drawing on the drama of the Northumbrian landscape. Adapted from the novels of Ann Cleeves, a Whitley Bay local, Vera makes the most of the region’s natural beauty and striking scenery. Every chosen spot highlights Northumberland’s dramatic backdrop, which plays as much a role as the characters themselves. Starting from Newcastle city centre, the coach tour covers highlights such as Amble, Warkworth, Alnmouth and the historic Bamburgh.
