The de Havilland Tiger Moth is a true icon of British aviation. Famous for its role as an RAF training aircraft from the 1930s onwards, this classic biplane offers a wonderfully authentic flying experience. With its open cockpit, distinctive engine note and hands-on controls, there’s nothing quite like soaring through the skies in a Tiger Moth. Before taking off, you will sit down with your pilot and help plan your route. Depending on your chosen direction and flying conditions, you could head north towards Castle Howard and Fountains Abbey, west towards Haworth and Skipton, east towards Pontefract and historic RAF airfields, or south towards Wentworth Woodhouse, Nostell and Holmfirth. Whichever route you take, you will enjoy a spectacular bird’s-eye view of Yorkshire’s countryside, historic landmarks and picturesque towns from the open cockpit of this beautiful vintage aircraft. Your flight will take place in one of two historic Tiger Moths. G-ANON, built in 1940, wears striking silver and yellow colours reflecting its service as an RAF trainer, while G-BAFG, built in 1942, features distinctive red and silver colours inspired by the famous de Havilland School of Flying.
