Your adventure begins at an outdoor activity centre near Merthyr Tydfil, where you will meet your instructor and get equipped with all the necessary safety gear, including helmets, wetsuits, and buoyancy aids. Once ready, you will head out to explore the waterways of Brecon Beacons National Park, choosing from a variety of beautiful locations.

If you are after a relaxed introduction, you might enjoy paddling across the peaceful waters of Pontsticill Reservoir. For those seeking more adventure, the fast-flowing River Usk offers a thrilling white water challenge. With modern equipment and expert guidance, beginners and experienced paddlers alike can enjoy this unforgettable outdoor adventure.

Perfect for friends, families, or anyone eager to try something new, this half-day kayaking experience is a fantastic way to build confidence on the water while taking in the spectacular scenery of South Wales

  • Minimum Age: 8 years

    Participants who are not able to swim can still take part - so long as you are comfortable around water, you will simply need to inform your instructor upon arrival and they will be able to give additional capsizing advice and instruction.

    All instructors are highly qualified and can cater for beginners and advanced paddlers alike.

  • Please ensure you are wearing shoes that you do not mind getting wet.

    You are advised to bring a change of clothes and a towel with you...just in case!

    Upon arrival, you'll be kitted out with paddles, helmets, buoyancy aids, and wetsuits.

    Please note, you'll need to wear a swimsuit/trunks under your wetsuit.

    Please also bring a packed lunch and a drink with you, as you'll need refreshments after your activity - these are not provided by the centre.

  • This exciting 3-hour shared kayaking experience in the Brecon Beacons runs at 9:15am and 1:15pm.

    All dates are subject to availability, and plenty of notice is advisable when booking.

    Participants: The South Glamorgan Half Day Kayaking For Two is for 2 participants.

    Max Group Size: 11

    Spectators Allowed on Site: No

    This is a shared group experience which requires a minimum of 4 participants in order to go ahead.

    If you are a group of 3 or less, you will simply be added toanother small group.

    There is no maximum group size as such.

    The ratio of participants to instructors is 12:1, so groups larger than this will need to give plenty of notice.

    The kayaking experience is not suitable for spectators.

  • Experience Duration: 3:00

    Time Spent at Venue: 3:00

    This is a 3 hour session, starting at either 9:15am or13:15pm.

    You will need to arrive approximately 10 minutes prior to the start time to get yourself checked in.

    • Minimum Age: 10 years
    • This product is not eligible for promotional discount codes.

  • The kayaking experience will go ahead in most weather conditions.

    However, if the experience is cancelled due to extreme or adverse conditions, you will simply be rescheduled for an alternative date.
