About the experience

Product ID: 17088

Wine Tasting & Cream Tea in East Sussex at Sedlescombe Vineyard. Visit Sedlescombe, England’s oldest organic vineyard, for a guided tour, wine tasting, and the chance to indulge in a traditional cream tea. Known for their passion and innovation, the vineyard team use biodynamic methods to bring a fresh approach to English winemaking in this idyllic corner of East Sussex. Set in the heart of 1066 Country, surrounded by ancient bluebell woods with views towards Battle, Sedlescombe is as beautiful as it is historic. Your tour begins with a stroll through the vines, where you’ll learn about both traditional wine production and biodynamic techniques. Next, step inside the winery to discover how the grapes are pressed, fermented, blended, and bottled. An expert host will share fascinating insights into each stage of the process before leading you into a tutored wine tasting. With a tasting sheet in hand, you’ll be able to note your impressions as you sample a selection of their acclaimed English wines. To round off your experience, sit back and enjoy a freshly prepared cream tea. Tuck into warm scones with jam and clotted cream, accompanied by a pot of tea—or, for an extra treat, a glass of sparkling wine.
