At Bovingdon Airfield in Hertfordshire, our incredible new Mitsubishi Lancer Rally X experience on the tarmac rally stage could help make that a reality. One of the few rally cars that has continually evolved and adapted to new WRC regulations, you'll get to feel the Lancer X's full power and performance as an expert co-rally driver helps you navigate around the course, with particular tuition focus on circuit driving, Gymkhana precision driving similar to that done by Ken Block, and how to achieve the perfect launch standing start / stop.

Itinerary

  • Arrival and sign on
  • 30 minute introductory briefing: covering racing lines, throttle/braking technique and track day safety etiquette
  • 4 x sighting laps including 1 high speed passenger lap in a Mitsubishi Lancer rally car on tarmac stage
  • 8 laps around tarmac stage incorporating tarmac circuit driving with a mixed surface section
  • Expert tuition on circuit driving – the racing line, trail braking and weight transfer
  • Expert tuition on Gymkhana precision driving, like you would see from Ken Block's videos – how to pull the handbrake on a loose mixed concrete surface at high speed – gear 3 pitching the car sideways decelerating for a technical gear 1 corner around a barrel
  • Practice launching the car at the rally 'Stop / Start' sign with a co-driver navigating your route

  • Please allow up to 1 ½ hours at the venue.

  • Extra laps and passenger laps can be purchased on the day. Optional Damage Liability Reductions (ODLR) can be purchased on the day from £25. Without ODLR, drivers will be liable to pay the full insurance excess on any vehicle they damage.

  • You can purchase a 10 month open gift voucher at checkout, or upgrade to 14 months for an additional fee.

    • For drivers aged 17 - 80, a full Manual UK licence is required to partake in this experience
    • You must be physically fit with no serious health conditions
    • Glasses must be worn if necessary
    • Flat soled shoes must be worn
    • Helmets are supplied at the venue
    • If you wish to book a weekend date you must pay a surcharge per driver
    • When ordering a voucher or booking a date for Bovingdon Experiences you also agree to the additional Bovingdon Terms and Conditions
