Learn the thousands of year old skill of blacksmithing and forge a knife in a Full Day Knife Forging Workshop at a family run forge in Herefordshire. But before the forge is fired up you will be introduced to your blacksmith who will give you a briefing about the course and let you select which design you wish to make. You will be able to choose from a kitchen knife, hunting knife, bushcraft knife, re-enactment knife, fishing knife or a woodwork knife. The knife will not only look like a work of art, it will be completely practical and designed for everyday use once you take it home. During your 6 hour workshop you will learn the techniques and methods of forging a usable knife. Be warned this is a physically demanding day, but we think it's definitely worth the hard work.

    Knife Forging Workshop:

    • Learn the fundamentals of knife making and learn the traditional techniques involved
    • You will be guided through the process of hand forging and polishing your knife
    • Knives available to design and forge: Kitchen knife, hunting knife, bushcraft knife, re-enactment knife, fishing knife, woodwork tool
    • Experiences last around 6 hours.
    • A picnic lunch is available to purchase for an additional £8.50, payable when booking your date
    • Not suitable for spectators
    • Enjoy locally produced hot food, available for purchase in the on-site café (open 7 days a week, 9 AM – 4 PM)
    • Minimum age 12 (must be accompanied by an adult)
    • Weekdays and selected Saturdays throughout the year
