Located within the expansive Slaley sporting estate near Hexham, this outdoor activity centre is set in a stunning forested area surrounded by pristine countryside. It offers a variety of activities, including axe-throwing sessions. If you’ve never tried axe throwing before, don’t worry — every session begins with a safety briefing and an introduction to the techniques. You’ll then practice throwing before moving on to scored rounds. You’ll throw a mix of axes, hatchets, and knives at large wooden targets. Initially, some throws may land on the ground, but with practice, you’ll likely hear that satisfying thud as your blade embeds into the wood. The entire experience lasts about 45 minutes, during which you’ll sharpen your axe-throwing skills and aim to score points, possibly even earning the title of the best thrower.
