About the Experience

Shooting Experience Days: Test your precision and skill with this exciting target shooting experience in Hertfordshire. Over an hour and a half at a beautiful centre, you’ll try your hand at three different disciplines:

Target Archery – Shoot with a ‘bare bow’ style and aim for the bullseye.

Crossbows – Feel the power and accuracy of these impressive weapons (strength required!).

Air Rifle Shooting – Use a .22 rifle to hit a variety of targets, from paper bullseyes to metal figures that flip when struck.

Your experience begins with a safety briefing to ensure everyone understands the rules of the range. You will then learn the correct stance and how to handle each weapon, followed by a theory session on aiming.

With coaching throughout, you will practice your skills before taking part in a fun, competitive game to see who comes out on top. At the end, you will receive a certificate showcasing your (hopefully perfect!) shooting scores—making this a thrilling and memorable experience for all.

  • Minimum age for Crossbow: 14

    Minimum age for Air Rifle Shooting: 8

    Minimum age for Target Archery: 10

    Unfortunately, those with serious health issues (particularly back, neck, arm and shoulder issues) cannot participate in the shooting experience. It is also not suitable for pregnant women.

  • Wear some comfy clothes that are suitable for the outdoors and appropriate for the weather on the day of your shooting experience.

    Please do not wear scarves or open-toed shoes.

    Long hair will have to be tied back, and you will be asked to remove any long/loose jewellery for the duration of the target experience.

  • The target practice experience is available for booking all throughout the year on selected weekdays and weekend dates, as well as bank holidays and school holidays.

    Please note that the centre will be closed on Wednesdays.

    Max Group Size: 4

    Spectators Allowed on Site: Yes

    There is no exact maximum group size, but groups of more than four will be rotated around the activities.

    Spectators are most welcome to come and watch the target practiceand shooting experience. The car park at the Hertfordshire centreis huge, and it is wheelchair accessible. The café on site offershot and cold food and refreshments, and in the main, warmer seasonthere is a lovely outdoor seating area for some well deserved alfresco lunch!
