About the Experience

Water Experience Days: Enjoy a peaceful adventure on the waterways of the New Forest, exploring hidden creeks teeming with wildlife alongside an expert guide.

Water Experience Days: Canoeing in Hampshire doesn’t get much better than this 2.5-hour guided session on the beautiful Beaulieu River. Paddling open-top Canadian canoes (seating two to three people), you will glide through a tranquil tidal estuary and into secluded creeks that are home to an abundance of wildlife. Calm, sheltered waters make this an ideal experience for beginners, with plenty of opportunities to learn the basics of canoeing while enjoying a few fun challenges along the way.

Your experience begins with a warm welcome at the centre, where you will be provided with all necessary safety equipment and waterproofs. After a short safety briefing and overview of the route, you will head to the jetty to launch your canoe. Your qualified instructor will be on hand throughout, offering guidance on paddling technique before leading you on a relaxed exploration of the river. After two and a half hours immersed in nature, you will return to the centre to change into warm, dry clothes—feeling refreshed and inspired by your time on the water.

  • Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult and must be signed in by an adult too.

  • All equipment is provided (buoyancy aid, light waterproofs).

    Bring a towel, spare change of clothes, sensible and sturdy shoes that you wouldn’t mind getting wet, waterproofs if raining and sun cream if it’s hot.

  • The Canoeing Experience is available from April to October, at weekends and on occasional weekdays. During school holidays and bank holidays, the Canoeing is available every day.

    Participants: The Hampshire Canoeing Experience for Two is for 2 participants.

    Spectators Allowed on Site: Yes

    Spectators are welcome to watch you paddle off down the riverfrom the centre.

    This is a shared experience where you will be joined by others on the day. For this experience to run, they will require a minimum of four people.

  • Experience Duration: 2:30

    Time Spent at Venue: 3:00

    You will spend approximately 2.5 hours out on the water with this canoe taster experience.

    Please note: You need to arrive 30 minutes before the start time for the briefing.

    • Minimum Age: 12 years
    • This product is not eligible for promotional discount codes.

  • The Canoeing will still go ahead if it’s raining.

    If the weather is classed as dangerous circumstances (strong winds, thunder and lightning), then the activity will have to be cancelled due to the safety of the customers and instructors.
