About the experience

Discover the magic of glassmaking with a half-day glassblowing experience in Buckinghamshire! Held in a spacious studio in Aylesbury, this hands-on session offers a fascinating insight into the ancient art of shaping molten glass. Under expert guidance, you’ll gather glowing glass from the furnace—an awe-inspiring moment as you face the intense 1100°C heat—and learn how to shape and blow it into a beautiful, one-of-a-kind piece. Using traditional tools and techniques, you’ll experiment with adding colour, creating unique bubbles, and forming elegant swirls in your design. Whether you are crafting a paperweight, tumbler, or small vase, every step of the process is creative, expressive, and immensely satisfying. By the end of your half-day session, you’ll have not only learned the fundamentals of glassblowing but also created your very own handmade work of art to take home—a truly memorable and fiery experience in the heart of Buckinghamshire.

This is a fascinating, engaging opportunity to work with a master of glassblowing and to learn from his passion, knowledge and experience. I was amazed by how quickly I was able to start trying things out myself. We were very fortunate in that half of our group dropped out so we got a huge amount of attention. It was a different and exciting day.
