Bird Of Prey Experience Days: Get up close to the incredible world of birds of prey with this unforgettable half-day falconry experience in Cheshire. Over three immersive hours, you will handle owls, falcons, buzzards—and even a vulture—as they land gracefully on your gloved hand, all while learning the ancient art of falconry from expert handlers. Discover their hunting instincts, astonishing speed, and raw power as you explore the aviary, ask questions, and gain a deeper appreciation for these extraordinary creatures.

Located just a short drive from Liverpool and Manchester, this experience is perfect for nature lovers, bird enthusiasts, and anyone eager to try something truly unique. After mastering the basics of handling, you will enjoy watching breathtaking flying displays before heading out on a “hawk walk,” strolling through nearby fields as Harris Hawks follow and fly to your glove. A memorable, thrilling day that connects you with these majestic birds in a way few people ever experience.

  • Minimum Age: 10.

    Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult spectator.

    The minimum age for spectators is 14 years old (providing that the participant is over the age of 16).

    This venue can accommodate anyone with mobility issues and is wheelchair accessible. Please mention any customer needs at the time of booking.

  • You will be outdoors for most of this experience, so please wear suitable clothing depending on the weather.

    Wear sturdy shoes or boots, perhaps even wellies or walking boots if it has been raining.

    Feel free to bring a camera - these birds are haughtily photogenic creatures! Tripods/monopods are not permitted as they can upset some of the birds.

  • The half day falconry experience is available seven days a week, mornings only and subject to availability.

    Spectators Allowed on Site: Yes

    You can bring one spectator along to share this experience with you. This costs £15.00, payable on arrival at the centre.

    If you wish to bring a spectator, please advise when you make your booking.

    This experience can run with up to 6 people per session.

  • Experience Duration: 3:00

    Time Spent at Venue: 3:10

    This half-day falconry experience lasts for 3 hours; however, it is advisable to arrive around 10minutes before your booking. Driving from Manchester city centre will take approximately 30 mins, and 45-50 mins from Liverpool city centre

    We also advise that you allow a little extra time on either side of your day, as the birds of prey will not necessarily work to our human schedules, and they definitely won't be rushed!

  • This experience can continue in most weather conditions; however, in the event of severe/extreme weather conditions, call the centre to discuss.
