About the Experience

Arts and Crafts Experience Days: Celebrate your anniversary with a unique blacksmithing experience in a traditional forge in Herefordshire. During this half-day workshop, you and your partner will learn how to shape iron into a bespoke piece you can take home as a lasting keepsake.

After a safety briefing from your expert blacksmith, you will be introduced to the tools and techniques of this ancient craft. You can choose to work together on one creation or add a little friendly competition to see who makes the best piece.

Set in a beautiful countryside forge, this memorable experience also includes time to relax with lunch — either from a locally sourced menu or your own picnic — making it a wonderfully unique way to celebrate a special anniversary.

  • Minimum age for this experience is 7.

    Under 10s will be working with cold metals.

    All under 18s must be supervised by an adult.

  • Loose fitting cotton material is preferred covering arms to protect from radiated heat and sparks.

    Strictly no vests or short sleeved tops where skin is exposed are advised.

    No loose cuffs or torn clothing are to be worn, as these can act as a snagging hazard.

    Shorts or skirts are also not permitted.

    Leather aprons are provided.

  • Morning slots start at 9am.

    Afternoon slots start at 4pm.
