About the experience

Hop on one of these exciting helicopter rides in South Wales to see the stunning Gower Peninsula from above! The 20-minute executive sightseeing tours of Gower depart from Pembrey Airport, just northwest of Llanelli. It's no surprise this airport is called the gateway to West Wales, as it’s ideally located for exploring the Welsh coast. Once airborne, you’ll be treated to countless landmarks and natural sights, long before reaching Gower. Covering 70 square miles, this peninsula extends from Mumbles and Swansea Bay to Loughor, but exploring on foot would take ages. That's why a South Wales-based helicopter tour operator added the Gower Peninsula (Penrhyn Gwyr in Welsh) to their tour options. What you'll see is hard to describe — Gower was the UK's first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1956, so every view from your helicopter promises a visual feast. The area is full of beaches, bays, hidden coves, dramatic coasts, and more. In just a few minutes, your helicopter will take you to the Loughor Estuary, crossing Burry Port into Gower. Expect to see secluded bays, stunning beaches, lighthouses, and castles like Whiteford Lighthouse and Oxwich Castle, which has Tudor origins. This entire region is incredibly photogenic, so don’t forget your camera for your helicopter tour over South Wales's beautiful Gower Peninsula.
