Your destination is the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway, where with an expert train driver, you'll get to climb aboard the cab of a Class 33, 47 or 73 diesel, and get a real insight into what it was like to drive one of Britain's true main line workhorses, as you get familiar with the levers and controls and haul a three coach passenger train up the steady incline of the Ecclesbourne line. Your journey will pass through tunnels, bridges and level crossings, with the opportunity to accelerate at certain speeds along the line and of course, sound that familiar two-tone horn! Plus, you can bring along a guest who can either ride in the cab with you and the instructor or ride in one of the coaches for what promises to be an experience of a lifetime for diesel locomotive lovers.
