Perched above the Medway, this remarkable Napoleonic fort, lovingly cared for by the Fort Amherst Heritage Trust, transforms into a festive wonderland each December. Join a 90-minute interactive tour through tunnels, ramparts, and hidden passageways as you explore the fort’s fascinating past—from its 18th-century defences to its role as a WWII Air Raid Command Post. After your journey through history, enjoy a touch of traditional wassailing, with singing, dancing, and joyful cheer echoing through the fort. Then, warm up with a mince pie and hot drink, or indulge in the Christmas Cream Tea—a delicious spread of sandwiches, scones, and sweet treats served with unlimited tea, coffee, or hot chocolate.     • The tour starts with World War 2, through to Victorian and Napoleonic times
    • Finish the tour, ending with the tradition of Wassailing
