About the Experience

Millinery - the art of making hats - is a craft that goes back centuries. But if you've ever wondered how the likes of Phillip Treacy, Stephen Jones or Gladys Tamez create such statement headwear for women, or perhaps you've thought it's something you'd be a dab hand at, this exclusive full day masterclass, held in Central London, is the perfect starting point. Your session leader for the day is none other than Katherine Elizabeth, one of London's most esteemed milliners and couture designers. She'll provide all the skills and equipment you need to block, edge and wire your very own custom headwear. And because the sessions are run in groups of two, you'll have plenty of time to ask Katherine questions or seek her guidance as you try out this intricate art, and have fun utilising different fabrics, feathers and beads to really make a bold reflection of your personality through your headwear! Plus, you'll get to take home your beautiful creation that will be ideal to wear for almost any ritzy, glitzy occasion!

  • Minimum Age: 18 years old.

  • Aprons are not required but may be useful if you wish to bring one. All necessary equipment and material will be provided at the Millinery studios, so you just need to bring your creativity and enthusiasm! However, if you have any particular materials that you want to use for your headpiece, you are very welcome to bring them along.

  • The full day Millinery class in London is not suitable for spectators, but luckily you can show off your creation once you have left the class!

  • This is a full day Millinery class and will take place over 5 ½ hours, starting at 11:30am and finishing at 5pm.

    • Minimum Age: 18 years

  • The weather will not affect your London millinery class.

  • This London millinery class is available throughout the year on selected weekday and weekend dates.
