The secret woodland location near Henley in Arden is privately managed and inaccessible to the public. This means that the bluebells grow denser and thicker, offering a breathtaking carpet of blue when in full bloom. Alan is incredibly lucky to have found this special place, and you will feel the magic just being there! The sunrise workshop is all about capturing the first rays of light as they break through the trees, offering an ethereal quality to your photos. The mid-morning shoot makes the most of daylight, with generally warmer hues. Alan will coach and tutor you through all aspects of photography, from white balance and exposure to depth of field and composition, encouraging you to discover and express your own style. By the end of your workshop, you will have a greater understanding of bluebell photography and a collection of stunning images on your camera's memory card.     • Spring photography bluebell woodland workshop

  • Equipment requirements

    • Any camera and lens is suitable - Zoom and wide angle and macro lens are an advantage
    • Tripod is advised, especially for doing close-up shots but also if booking the sunrise session
    • A tripod can be hired for the workshop at £10 - Please advise when booking your date if required
    • A polariser filter is useful but not essential
    • Remote Release cable is useful but alternatively, you can use the self-timer on the camera

    • Under 16's welcome but must be accompanied by a participating adult
    • Workshops are suitable to any level of experience as 1:2:1 tuition is provided throughout
    • A good, general level of fitness is required to be able to be able to deal with the short walks (20mins) and occasional steps or gradients involved
    • Due to popularity it is recommended you book well in advance to secure your preferred date

A wonderful experience with an excellent workshop leader who gave advised tailored to those on the workshop, weather may not of played ball but to me it was a great opportunity and picked up tips on composition and tried new techniques exactly what I wanted from the workshop
