About the experience

Product ID: 14239

Seeing the UNESCO World Heritage Site Stonehenge is a bucket list activity for any History buff made even better from the air. As you can no longer get up close to the stones on foot, this is the best opportunity to see it and be uninterrupted from the crowds. This flight will set off at Thruxton Aerodrome near Andover and take you close and personal over this ancient site. For those who know Stonehenge well, you’ll be delighted to realise this flight includes seeing ‘The Avenue’ from the air, an ancient way path built between 2600 and 1700 BC to connect the site to the River Avon. As your flight zooms in on this path, you can imagine how the ancient people lived. Seeing Stonehenge from the air is a magical experience and will naturally make you reflect on the wonders of the history surrounding the ancient site. It’s hard not to feel moved when you visit this site and this is accentuated with a VIP flight that brings you so close to it. A bird's eye view over Stonehenge is a history buff's dream and luckily we are offering two different trips, one at 15 minutes and the other at 30 minutes. The longer tour takes you further over the North Wessex Downs or Cranborne Chase so you can appreciate the chalky landscape and prelude to the ancient site. If you’ve ever wanted to go and see Stonehenge, this is the only way to appreciate it in its entirety.

Customer Reviews for the Extended Stonehenge Helicopter Tour For One

Nice trip. Would have liked pilot to point out other structures than Stonehenge and Salisbury Cathedral. eg the cursus barrows. And did we pass over Silbury Hill or Avebury Stone Circle or Durrington Walls I expect the trip would also be enhanced during crop circle season
