Details for the Exclusive 1:1 Train Driving at The Watercress Line in Hampshire

Product ID: 18084

Take control of a classic diesel locomotive with an exclusive driving experience on the iconic Watercress Line. With just you and your host driver in the cab, you will experience life at the controls on this historic Mid-Hants railway at the foot of the South Downs. Every experience is bespoke and centred around you. You will get to know the locomotive, take the controls and discover what it’s really like to be part of a railway crew. Your locomotive for the day is the mighty Class 31 diesel-electric, a powerful freight heavyweight with a rugged design, unmistakable sound and enduring popularity among railway enthusiasts. Setting off from Alresford Station, you will travel along a route once used to transport the watercress grown throughout Mid-Hampshire. Pass through Ropley, home to the famous Harry Potter footbridge, before tackling the challenging 1-in-60 gradients around Medstead & Four Marks, perfect territory for putting the Class 31 through its paces. Continue towards Alton, where the heritage railway meets the modern mainline network, before exploring more of what the Watercress Line has to offer. With one-to-one tuition, an iconic diesel locomotive and miles of historic railway to explore, this exclusive driving experience is an unforgettable gift for any train enthusiast.
