Your evening adventure begins in a central location, where you’ll meet your expert instructor and group before receiving a brief introduction. Then, set off through the lamp-lit streets of Edinburgh, snapping photos and learning tips, tricks, and technical techniques to make the most of low-light conditions. Your instructor will guide you on using artificial light to craft stunning, creative shots without relying on daylight. By the end of the session, you’ll have a collection of impressive nighttime photographs and a wealth of new knowledge to improve your photography.

This Edinburgh at Night Photography Workshop is the perfect experience gift for intermediate photographers looking to expand their skills and enjoy a creative night out in the city.

  • This Edinburgh workshop is for intermediate photographers with their own cameras.

    Unfortunately, this experience is not wheelchair accessible.

    There is no minimum age for the workshop.

  • You should wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather, as it will likely be cold at night. Gloves are also advisable; ensure that they will still allow you to use the camera controls.

    Please bring your camera (for which you can set the exposure manually) and a sturdy tripod. Most images for this workshop require a wide-angle lens, and it is also helpful to have a long zoom. If you have neutral density graduated filters, please bring these.

    Ensure your camera batteries are fully charged, and bring a spare if possible.

    You will take about 150 photographs per session, so please bring a memory card.
