About the Experience
Beer lovers in Dorchester, this one’s right up your street. Spend a full day at the Dorchester Brewhouse and Kitchen learning how proper beer is made, guided by an expert brewer. You’ll get stuck in with every step, from mashing in to fermentation, discovering how grains, hops and a bit of patience come together to create something truly satisfying.
Your day starts with a warm welcome, a hot drink, and an introduction to the Brewhouse and its craft beers. Then it’s time to mash in and get brewing. Once things are underway, you’ll pause for a bacon sandwich and your first beer tasting of the day - a chance to chat about the process and what’s happening in the mash tun. After that, you’ll carry on with the transfer, re-circ and sparge, dig out the mash tun, and start the all-important boil with hops.
When lunchtime rolls around, you’ll enjoy a proper meal in the pub, with another pint of fresh craft ale to go with it. Then it’s back to the brewery to add more hops and kettle finings, before transferring your brew to the fermentor and cleaning up. To finish, you’ll take home a certificate and a 5L mini-keg of beer worth £25 - or, if you’d rather take your own brew home, you can collect it two weeks later once it’s fully fermented.
It’s a brilliant, hands-on day out for anyone who appreciates a good pint and fancies seeing how it’s made - and of course, there’s no harm in staying for one more before you go.
