About the Experience

Experience the Cumbrian countryside in a way you probably never have before with this brilliant outdoor adventure. Gorge walking is not your average day out. It is packed with action, from leaping into clear pools to scrambling over rocks and making your way through wild natural gorges. If you enjoy a bit of adrenaline and do not mind getting soaked, this is the kind of adventure you will love. Your experience begins when you meet your group and qualified instructors at the countryside location. Once everyone has arrived, you will be kitted out with the safety gear you need before heading off to start the adventure. From there you will work your way through the rugged gorges, climbing over rocks, jumping into fresh pools, sliding down smooth stone and wading through rushing water. It is muddy, wet and seriously good fun. After around two and a half hours of exploring, climbing and splashing your way through the gorge, the experience will wrap up. It will be time to dry off, get changed and head home with plenty of stories to tell from your day out in the wild Cumbrian countryside. Gorge walking is an unforgettable outdoor adventure and a fantastic experience gift for anyone who enjoys getting outside, trying something different and making the most of the beautiful British countryside.

    • The minimum age for this experience is 11 years old.
    • In order to take part in this activity, all Participants must be able to swim a minimum of 25 meters unaided.
    • Please note that any Participant who is pregnant or suffers from neck, back or heart conditions cannot take part in the Gorge Walking.
    • All the specialist equipment you need will be provided by the venue.
    • This includes wetsuit, helmets and bouyancy aids.
    • You must bring shoes that you don't mind getting wet, such as old trainers.
    • Please also bring swimwear to wear under your wetsuit, a towel and any medication you may need.(i.e. Inhalers, Epi Pen etc.)
    • Spectators are welcome.
    • In order to take part in this activity, all Participants must be able to swim a minimum of 25 meters unaided.
    • Please note that any Participant who is pregnant or suffers from neck, back or heart conditions cannot take part in the Gorge Walking.
    • The Cumbria Gorge Walking Adventure lasts for up to 3 hours and 30 minutes. You can expect to be at the venue for a total of 3 hours and 45 minutes.
    • Minimum Age: 11 years

    • Generally this experience is not affected by the weather.
    • On the rare occasion where the levels of the river will rise, the supplier will do their best to put them onto an alternative activity.
