Details for the Bronze Taxidermy Workshop

Product ID: 12703

Welcome to the Taxidermy School! Whether you find taxidermy macabre or mesmerising, these popular classes regularly sell out. The Bronze experience focuses on mouse taxidermy, where you will learn how to skin, prepare, preserve, mount and pose your specimen from start to finish. These London-based workshops combine traditional naturalist taxidermy with the more playful art of anthropomorphism, a Victorian-era style that allows for creative, characterful poses. It’s an ideal introduction to the craft, balancing hands-on technique with a touch of imagination. All materials, tools and ethically sourced specimens are provided, and no dangerous chemicals are used. It is a fully practical experience though, so you will need to get stuck in, definitely one for the curious rather than the squeamish. Led by a Guild of Taxidermists-qualified specialist, the workshop takes place in East London. At the end, you will take home your finished mouse.

The course was great and I learnt a lot. Suzette is very knowledgeable and a good teacher. I do think that the day was slightly over subscribed as it took longer than the allotted time, despite there being some waiting to move on to the next section, but I still had a great experience.

This is a really good class The teacher is very clear in each stage of the taxidermy process which then made it easy to follow. He is super talented, patient helpful. Plus he leant me some glasses as I had forgotten mine 0 The food is excellent I cant wait to take the class again. Thank you all who made the day.
