About the Experience
Calling all beer lovers in Bristol - this one’s for you. Spend a full day at the Brewhouse and Kitchen getting stuck into the art of brewing, from barley to bottle. You’ll start the morning with a warm drink (it’s still early, after all) and a quick introduction to what the day has in store, before diving straight into the first stage of brewing - mashing in. That’s where you’ll mix crushed grains with hot water to kick off the magic. Before long, you’ll be rewarded with your first tasting session - expect a few beers, a bacon roll, and some top-notch chat with the brewer about what’s bubbling away in the mash tun.
With a pint in hand, you’ll move on to transferring, re-circulating and sparging the mix - don’t worry, your brewer will explain everything as you go. After all that hard work, it’s time for a well-earned lunch in the pub, and yes, beer o’clock has officially arrived. Once you’re refuelled, you’ll add hops and kettle finings to help create that perfect clear finish before the brew is transferred to the fermenter, where it’ll rest until it’s ready for drinking.
Throughout the day, you’ll be guided by an expert brewer, tasting a variety of Brewhouse and Kitchen craft beers and ales while learning the tricks of the trade. Your glass will be kept nicely topped up as you go, making it a proper day out for anyone who loves a good pint. To top it off, you’ll take home a certificate and a 5L mini keg of freshly brewed beer. Or, if you’d rather sample your own handiwork, your personal brew will be ready for collection two weeks later once it’s fully fermented.
Whether you’re curious about how beer is made, keen to try your hand at home brewing, or looking for a cracking gift for a fellow beer enthusiast, this Bristol brewery experience is the perfect blend of learning, laughter and lager.
