You’ll be introduced to Kira, the heart and soul of the centre. A skilled breeder, trainer, and passionate falconer, Kira has a remarkable connection with her birds. Her calm, caring approach and deep understanding of each raptor make watching them together something truly special. Kira’s feathered family includes both captive-bred birds and rescues she’s lovingly rehabilitated. After studying raptor care and rehabilitation in South Africa, she returned home to West Yorkshire to create her own haven for birds in need – and now shares that passion with visitors like you. During your visit, you could meet Libby the charming African Spotted Eagle Owl, Bungle the impressive Eagle Owl, Tilly the sweet Barn Owl, Kobie the striking Harris Hawk, and Geoff the Hawk, a rescue bird with a touching backstory that Kira will share with you in person. Sessions are run on a private, one-to-one basis, so it’s just you, Kira, and the birds. You’ll hear fascinating stories, learn about falconry and conservation, and even get the chance to fly these magnificent creatures to your gloved hand. Open all year round, this experience is perfect for bird lovers, families, and anyone looking for a unique and heartwarming day out in the Yorkshire countryside.

Brilliant experience. Kira was very knowledgable and friendly. Her birds were beautiful characters. It was a hot day for the birds so they were unwilling to fly far but they did fly to us and happily sat on our arms while we chatted and fed them. Well definitely do this again.

Bird of Prey Experience
- During the session, you will fly, handle and feed a range of birds, including owls and hawks
- Allow three hours for this experience

- Spectators are welcome for a small additional charge payable on the day
- £10 per person for the hawk walk and the half-day falconry

Our visit to KL Falconry greatly exceeded our expectations. The owner was very knowledgeable and helpful and we had a fantastic morning with the birds of prey. We would recommend this to any true wildlife lover.

The bird of prey experience was ok. The problem wasnt kira the handeling lady. It was the weather. The birds were too hot. We only had an hour and no flying because of the heat. A bit dissapointing really. But i dont know how it cud have been sorted because noone cant change the weather.

A great day out getting up close and personal to the owls and hawks and Kira was a very knowledgeable falconer with a love and passion for her birds that really shone through
