Under the guidance of an expert instructor, you’ll learn how to handle and throw a full-sized Tomahawk axe with accuracy, taking aim at the target and testing your hand-eye coordination like never before. Perfect for beginners or those looking to sharpen their skills, this experience adds a fun competitive twist to keep everyone on their toes.

Upon arrival at the purpose-built outdoor range, your instructor will give a full safety briefing, covering axe handling, range etiquette, and essential techniques. Then it’s time to grab your Tomahawk and feel the thrill as you begin throwing, with coaching and practice games designed to build confidence and improve your aim. The axes are regularly serviced and sharpened, so hitting the bullseye is all up to you!

This 60-minute axe throwing session in Leeds is ideal for adrenaline seekers, groups of friends, or anyone looking for a unique, action-packed experience you’ll want to repeat.

  • Minimum Age: 12 years

    Please note that as real Tomahawk Axes are used, some 12 and 13 year old may struggle with the weight - the instructors will do their best to move the targets closer in this situation.

    Participants will be expected to handle the axes safely, according to the instructions from the expert instructor - the axes will be sharp.

  • Please dress according to the weather conditions - wear warm layers in the winter, and bring suncream with you in the summer.

    You will also need flat, sturdy shoes which you don't mind getting a little muddy.

  • This Axe Throwing Experience in Leeds is generally available 7 days a week, throughout the year (subject to availability and group size).

    Spectators Allowed on Site: Yes

    At the Hazlewood venue, the minimum group size for this activity to run is 2 people.

    At the Ripley venue, the minimum group size for this activity to run is 4 people.

    The maximum group size for this experience is 12. Please note that for large group sizes, the experience may last longer than an hour, but each person may get less time to practice throwing.

    Spectators are welcome to come along to the centre to watch you take part in the axe-throwing experience.

    A small selection of drinks will be available from the centre.

  • Experience Duration: 1:00

    Time Spent at Venue: 1:15

    This experience lasts around 50 to 60 minutes.

    Please ensure you arrive at the centre at least 15 minutes prior to your start time in order to get signed in.

  • This is an outdoor experience, so extreme weather conditions may have an effect. If the experience is cancelled due to unsafe conditions, you'll simply be rescheduled for an alternative date.
