Your first stop is Grassington, transformed on screen into the fictional village of Darrowby. Explore its charming Market Square, spot familiar locations from the series and enjoy free time to browse the independent shops and cafés. Continue deeper into the Yorkshire Dales, travelling through beautiful Wharfedale and across Beggarman’s Pass. Along the way, see memorable filming locations including St Michael and All Angels Church in Hubberholme, used for James and Helen’s wedding, and Yockenthwaite Farm, which appears as the Alderson family farm. Next, head into Wensleydale and stop at Hawes, known as the ‘Capital of the Dales’. Enjoy time for lunch, explore the town or visit the famous Wensleydale Creamery to sample the cheese that made the area famous. The afternoon brings a visit to the spectacular Aysgarth Falls, also featured in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, followed by Bolton Castle, an impressive 14th-century fortress surrounded by sweeping views across Wensleydale.
