About the Experience

Kayak Experience Days: Enjoy a fantastic 90-minute kayaking taster session and get to grips with one of the UK’s fastest-growing watersports under the guidance of a qualified instructor. You’ll head out onto the beautiful Beaulieu River, gliding through peaceful stretches and discovering its winding creeks along the way.

Your adventure begins with a warm welcome at the centre, followed by a safety briefing and an introduction to the equipment. Once you are comfortable and ready to go, you will hop into a stable, single-cockpit touring kayak and set off on a relaxed paddle with your instructor leading the way. As you explore the river’s scenic twists and turns, you’ll pick up essential kayaking skills and take part in fun on-water games designed to build your confidence and ability.

If you’re after a gentle yet engaging introduction to kayaking—perfect for beginners and ideal within a friendly group setting—this experience is a great choice. It also makes a brilliant gift for anyone who loves trying new activities and is always up for a mini outdoor adventure.

  • The minimum age for this experience is 17

    (Under 18's must be accompanied by a participating parent / guardian.)

    All Participants must be confident in the water.

  • All equipment, including wetsuit and buoyancy aid, is provided by the centre; all you need to bring is a towel, some swimwear and clothes that you don't mind getting wet and dirty.

    It is recommended to secure glasses with elastic if you wish to wear them during the experience.

  • The Kayaking Taster is available on selected dates from March to October. Weekend availability is more frequent, but it operates on some weekdays.
