Conveniently located near Berkshire and beyond, this is an ideal spot for your first microlight flight. Membury Airfield was once a bustling USAAF and RAF station. After the war, the airfield was privatised, and much of the land returned to agricultural use. However, a thriving General Aviation scene remained, and that continues today at this strategically located airfield between Reading and Swindon. We operate microlight flights in fixed-wing, closed cockpit, and flex-wing open cockpit aircraft, giving you the choice to experience the sport in a way that suits you. Will you opt for the open cockpit of the flex-wing and reconnect with the sport's roots, or stay cosy in the closed cockpit of the fixed-wing? Both offer unique experiences for passengers, and both are great in their own way! Our instructor pilots at this Berkshire microlight school have their own favourites. For Chief Flying Instructor David Sollom, it's all about being in the open air and feeling the elements. With his background in paragliding and hangliding, David loves taking to the air in the school's Pegasus 912 flex-wing. Lead flying instructor Dave 'Coxy' Cox has a long career in the RAF, but he's passionate about flying the school's Ikarus microlight. With side-by-side seating, it offers a great view of what's going on, and it's nice and warm in colder weather. We offer 60-minute flights in both flex-wing and fixed-wing aircraft.     • 60 minute microlight flight
    • Fly a fixed-wing microlight which has an enclosed fuselage and controls similar to a small plane
    • After being welcomed at the flying school, you'll meet your instructor to discuss your lesson
    • Once in the air, your pilot will demonstrate the controls of the microlight and allow you to take control and try flying it yourself
    • Great photo opportunities, so don't forget your camera
    • Hot and cold drinks and light snacks can be purchased from the onsite club house
    • Bring along your camera for great photo opportunities
    • Spectators are welcome to watch your take-off and landing from the viewing area
    • Minimum age 14
    • Under 18s must be accompanied on the airfield by an adult
    • Maximum weight is 100kg (just under 16 stone)
    • Weekdays and weekends throughout the year, subject to suitable weather conditions
