Details for the 60 Minute Flying Lesson at Headcorn Aerodrome

Product ID: 15394

This is your chance to take a trial 60 minute flying lesson from the historic surroundings of Headcorn Aerodrome in Kent. This former RAF airfield, that's been in operation since the 1920s, has proudly kept its military aviation roots honoured, with the Air Warfare Museum and parachuting school both still on site, filled with a number of heritage artefacts that act as a fascinating insight and lasting memory of the courageous trainee fighter pilots who were based at this airfield when it was RAF Lashenden during WWII. On your 60 minute lesson in an ultra-light Ikarus C42 aircraft, you'll get to take the controls and master the basics of flying under the guidance of an expert flying instructor - and this will also count towards your hours of flight training to receive your Private Pilot's Licence (PPL). And with an on-site bar (Wings) and cafe (The Holding Point), you can even make a day of it with your loved ones or friends.

Customer Reviews for the 60 Minute Flying Lesson at Headcorn Aerodrome

Great experience would definitely recommend to anyone, it was an amazing day and enjoyed every minute and even got to land the plane.

Having never flown in anything anywhere at the tender age of 78, this into the blue gift was out of the blue as a Christmas gift1 hour at Headcorn with Mid Kent Aviation. The pilot Andrew Hopper run through all the controls and instrumentation with me on the ground while the engine was warming up. I of course was full of trepidation as we bounced along the ground towards the runway take off area, cleared for take off and was away. No sooner had we lifted off when Andrew who is a very chilled guy let me take over the controls, told me what height to get to before levelling off and then what landmarks to head for We flew over the Kent country side, Ashford, Dover with Andrew pointing out landmarks. It was that for the whole hour, totally nothing like I imagined or expected, not only was it my very first flight but I actually flew as well Concentration was intense so fears disappearedHowever I dont think he trusted me to land it as he took control of that part My advice to any one who has never done, go for it
