Although they look pretty funky on the outside and don't appear to be the most stable of aircraft - looks can be deceiving! If you're not yet familiar with Gyrocopters you're in for a treat as they are a fun and adventurous way to explore the landscape, especially with this 60 Minute Flight with an open cockpit - meaning you feel every ounce of nature! Taking off in Popham Airfield near Basingstoke, you'll soon be part of a friendly team of instructors who live and breathe everything Gyrocopter. As well as getting to experience what these quirky planes are capable of as you dart across the skies, you'll get to learn all about how to fly them when the instructor hands over the controls to you, and you won't want to miss the chance to have a go! You'll soon find these Gyros are easy to control and get the hang of, and sooner rather than later you'll be booking your next session in no time.     • Open cockpit flight in a Magni M16
    • A pre flight briefing and explanation of the controls
    • An opportunity to take the controls
    • A flying suit, helmet and radio comms are provided
    • Lesson time includes approximately 5 minutes for taxiing
    • Weekdays and Saturdays throughout the year
    • All flights are subject to weather conditions
    • You need to be agile enough to get in and out of the gyrocopter
    • No previous flying experience is required Front seat experience is at the instructors discretion
    • Please seek medical advice if you have previously suffered a heart condition or other medical complaint such as back or neck problems
    • This experience is not suitable for pregnant mothers
    • All participants must complete an information sheet and waiver prior to flying
    • Spectators are welcome to watch your gyrocopter flight
    • There is a clubhouse which is usually open to visitors, along with a café at weekends
    • Minimum Age: 14 years

    • Please wear warm comfortable outdoor clothing and closed toe footwear, you should also bring gloves to wear on the flight

Steve Boxall is almost certainly the most experienced gyroplane pilot and instructor in the UK and is a great guy too Really kind, calm and reassuring, gave a super flight from this buzzing, friendly airfield always busy with some fascinating aircraft movements. If youve not been in a gyroplane it is simply amazing it does things you cannot do in a fixed wing and is amazingly stable and very safe when handled well. The first flight will never be forgotten a breathtaking, joyous experience. You wont stop smiling for days The view from the open M16 is unsurpassable and you are right in nature you can even smell the crops and bonfires. Steve will let you fly it actually it pretty much flies itself. In terms of bangs for bucks it cannot be beaten and as this was a present from my aircraftphobic wife I was most grateful for her bucks and she was happy that the bangs were metaphorical Ill certainly be back for more when I get the time.
