Take to the skies with a 60 minute four seater helicopter lesson departing from Leicester Airport, a brilliant option for anyone in Leicestershire or the wider East Midlands who has ever wondered what flying a helicopter is really like. This long established, family run operation has been based at Leicester Airport since 2001 and is well known for its professional setup and welcoming atmosphere. Helicopter training is very much their speciality and over the years hundreds of pilots have learned the ropes here. The purpose built helipad and spacious operating area give the whole experience a polished and reassuring feel from the moment you arrive. This one to one trial lesson is all about hands on flying. After a briefing with your instructor, you will strap in and get the chance to take control of a four seater helicopter for a full hour in the air. The aircraft used is the Robinson R44, a hugely respected training helicopter used by schools all over the world. Helicopters feel completely different to fixed wing aircraft and hovering alone is something most people never forget. Your instructor will guide you through the controls and let you experience just how responsive and exciting helicopter flying can be. If you would like to share the moment, you may be able to bring a guest along to sit in as an observer, subject to the instructor’s approval. For anyone thinking about learning properly, the flight time from this lesson can also be logged towards future helicopter training.
