Take flight above the Northumbrian countryside and coastline in fully restored, vintage 1940s DH82a Tiger Moth on this 30 minute flying experience! G-EMSY is a former RAF Tiger Moth, and from Eshott Airfield in Morpeth, you'll take off into the skies to explore this corner of the North of England from the air. Darren, who is an experienced pilot, and his lifelong best friend Dave are the owners of this truly magnificent little gem of vintage aviation, which was first built in 1940, and deployed to RAF Luffenham to train WWII pilots, staying with the RAF until she was decommissioned in 1954. Over four decades later, in 1991, she was rediscovered in a barn in Belgium, gradually restored back to her airworthy best by 2000. You'll sit in the passenger seat at the front, offering you the best view possible, and as the propeller swings to start the engine, the excitement builds as you go on a flight where you truly will go back in time! And you'll also have the opportunity to speak with Darren and Dave and plan your flight path - so it's truly bespoke to you.

    • Bespoke Routes Specific routes can be designed just for you
    • Suitable outdoor clothing and footwear should be worn
    • Light snacks and refreshments can be purchased from the on-site café (open Thursday to Sunday) or pre-book a delicious afternoon tea
    • Friends and family are welcome to watch your takeoff and landing from the viewing area
    • The airfield is dog-friendly, but all dogs must be kept on a lead at all times
    • Minimum age 14
    • Under 18s must be accompanied on the airfield by an adult

    • Participants must sign a declaration prior to flying
    • Flights are from Thursdays to Sundays between April and October
    • Flight experiences are subject to availability and weather conditions
