You’ll be taking off from Kirkbride Airfield and tour the Lakes from the North which will give you incredible views all round whatever direction you find yourself looking in. As you take in the views make sure to look out for the Coniston Old Man, the highest summit standing at a grand total of 803m. You may think it will be hard to miss, but with incredible scenes in every direction, it can be hard to know where to look, but luckily, your onboard pilot will be pointing out all the sights along the way. Great day and amazing views of the Southern Lake District. The flight was very well organised and the safety briefing was reassuring. Having never been in a helicopter, it was wonderfully smooth and the takeoff and landing appearing effortless, but maybe this was the very talented pilot. Many thanks again for a great afternoon.

flight was slightly shorter than described, although I didnt opt for the front seat upgrade I think this is necessary if you want the best view as your partner also sits behind you which is the lake view.

    • We are offering two different flight paths for you on these Lake District helicopter tours. Take off from Kirkbride Airfield just east of Carlisle and you'll tour the Lakes from the north. Depart from Greenlands Farm helipad near Carnforth and you'll head up from the south side
    • Flights are taken in either a Bell Jet Ranger (4 seater) or Bell Long Ranger (6 seater)
    • 30 minute flight over the Lake District
    • Landmarks and sights include the historic Belle Isle, Storrs Hall, Bowness, Lake Windermere, Furness Fells and Ambleside
    • You will form part of a group of between 4-6 people
    • Welcome, introduction and safety briefing
    • Plenty of opportunity for photographs
    • Flying activities have maximum weights (per seat) to ensure health and safety along with the comfort of fellow passenger

The flight was most enjoyable. However, being seated in the middle at the rear of the aircraft, my view was limited and it made taking photographs very difficult. Furthermore the flight was too close to Lake Windermere, which made long distance shots along the full length of the lake impossible.
