Rest assured, it will only be your private group and the pilot in the helicopter. The voucher price accommodates up to six passengers, but feel free to invite fewer if you prefer—perfect for that ultimate romantic gesture! The 30-minute private tour allows you to choose your departure point from Buxton, Owler Bar, or Glossop. If you depart from Glossop, your flight will traverse over Bleaklow and Kinder en route to Derwent, bypassing the typical Chatsworth path. As you soar over the spectacular Hope Valley, you’ll quickly notice the iconic twin-towered Derwent Dam, which proudly marks the southern end of Derwent Reservoir (Hawden Dam is located at the northern end!). The aerial views are breathtaking, particularly when the water cascades over the dam... Take a moment to soak in those sights while imagining what it must have been like for those young pilots flying low over the dam, training with the ‘bouncing bombs’ in preparation for that historic 1943 mission over the German Ruhr. Today, the area around Derwent is serene, where you will spot hikers and sheep by the reservoir instead of WWII aircraft on Dambuster training runs!     Your flight path varies according to your departure location:

    • Spectators are welcome to attend and watch your take off and landing with plenty of great photo opportunities
    • Photo ID and proof of address will be required on the day
    • Flying activities have maximum weights (per seat) to ensure health and safety, along with the comfort of fellow passengers
    • You must enter the passenger/participant weight at the time of booking an experience. If weight varies between the time of initial booking and the date of flight experience, it remains the responsibility of the customer to update their individual weight via their online account prior to flight
    • All passengers will be weighed before flight, and if a disparity exists between the weight disclosed and the actual weight (within reason), the passenger may be ineligible to fly
