About the experience

Product ID: 17043

We believe that those with a physical disability or visual impairment can also enjoy learning to fly - which this all new accessible flying lesson will help to make a reality. This 30 minute lesson, hosted at one of two venues across the UK - Little Gransden Airfield in Cambridgeshire and Rochester Airport in Kent - is provided by a supplier who are a leading disability organisation, who are specialists in making learning to fly accessible to anyone with any disability. Only the very best flying instructors run these lessons, fully approved by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), and they are very well experienced with the requirements that those with disabilities have. In the majority of cases, you will actually get to fly the aeroplane yourself (an Ikarus C42 light aircraft) and believe us when we say taking the controls really provides a satisfying feeling of accomplishment. Your session will begin with a briefing, conducted at a steady pace to help you become familiar with what to expect on the flight and what exercise you will be doing. Then comes the exciting part, as you enjoy your 30 minute lesson, including checks and what your responsibilities are as the pilot, to help you relax and build in confidence as the lesson progresses. The lesson will finish with a debriefing session from the instructor. You can look forward to a day of adventure, and we would always recommend arriving early, as this is a great way to meet others in attendance and prepare for your lesson.
