Take to the skies with a 30 minute flying lesson from the charming Tibenham Airfield in Norfolk, flying in the ever popular four seater Cessna 172. This is a proper hands on introduction to flying from a relaxed countryside airfield tucked between Thetford and Norwich. You will be welcomed by pilot instructor Mark or one of his experienced team before heading out to the aircraft. The Cessna 172 features side by side seating and dual controls, so you can see exactly what your instructor is doing and take control yourself once you are airborne. Thanks to the large windows, visibility is excellent, making it easy to soak up those sweeping Norfolk views. Tibenham has a fascinating past as a former RAF airfield, but today it is all about peaceful leisure flying. Surrounded by open farmland and with very little controlled airspace nearby, it is an ideal place to experience flying for the first time. You will usually take off from one of the airfield’s multiple tarmac runways and within moments you will be climbing into the sky. During your lesson, your instructor will guide you through the basics of flying, including straight and level flight and gentle turns. This is not just a passenger ride. You really will be flying the aircraft, with expert guidance right beside you. It is relaxed, exciting and great fun from start to finish. A brilliant way to experience flying in a classic training aircraft from one of Norfolk’s most atmospheric airfields.
