Now is your chance to both discover over 25 acres of Northamptonshire countryside surrounding Rockingham Castle and get to grips with driving a four wheel drive off roader like a pro! This half day session with 1:1 tuition is held in the grounds surrounding Rockingham Castle near Corby in Northamptonshire, at one of the longest running 4x4 off roader centres of its kind. Its founder, and your instructor for the half day, is Vince, who is very proficient and has years of experience driving 4x4 Off Road vehicles in all manner of tight situations. If you're going to be learning from anybody, he's the best man for the job. Your session will last approximately 2 ½ hours, in which time you'll be getting to grips with learning and mastering the basics of driving a four wheel drive vehicle - the Land Rover Defender 110 - off grid, and tackling all manner of challenging terrains: ditches, side slopes, deep troughs and steep downhill gradients, with plenty of mud and water along the way - including a twisty, twiny, tree lined part of the driving route known as the ominous sounding Death Valley. And it won't take long to discover why it's so named! Those looking for an exciting opportunity to get driving off-road in the East Midlands would be well advised to book onto this incredible experience.

- Morning Session: 09:00am - 12:00pm
- Afternoon Session: 13:00pm - 16:00pm

- Drivers must be over 18 and have a full, valid driving licence
- Passengers must be aged 6 and up

- Up to two guests (minimum age 6) can travel in the car as a passenger, guests with a licence may also share the driving
- There's a fee of £40 per guest for half days
- All guests must be booked in with 4x4 operator and paid for on the day

A really fantastic half day. Everyone was very friendly making us very welcome and the facilities were excellent. Luke, my instructor, was excellent giving clear instructions when demonstrating and when I was driving making the whole experience very enjoyable. I would like to do it all again sometime in the future, next time making a day of it. Highly recommend the experience to anyone.

Very enjoyable. I was given the choice of a drive in a landrover or the latest Rangerover. I chose the Rangerover as I had never driven one before. On reflection, this may have been a mistake. The RR does everything for you and is a great drive. However, you do not learn the skills to negotiate rough ground as the car is so competent. My thanks to Andrew, my instructor.

A warm welcome and once the necessary form had been completed the session began. The session was conducted by an experienced offroader who gave clear and precise instructions to a complete novice. Explanations of the reasons behind certain instructions were given were made which made it clearer to my mind. A very good session which I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone. I would recommend the company without hesitation.

What an awesome experience would thoroughly recommend to all Bought the 1hr course as a gift for my husband and he had the most amazing time I was in the back seat Really friendly and patient instructor called Darren who put my husband at ease with his humour and gave him numerous tips for future 4x4 driving. A great hour experience particularly as it was my daughter who was driving, I mearley sat in the back during the 4x4 experience. We both agreed how cleaver the softwear was in controlling the vehicle on the slippery slopes. Could we have a manual gearbox next time so vehicle control would be more reliant on driver input making a greater challenge probably more fun Still a great experience though

What a great experience Coffee on arrival, a quick runthrough and straight into the car partner optional, no extra charge for a full hour driving in a Defender less than a year old with 800 miles on the clock. Andrew was a great teacher with lots of experience. If you want to blast through swamps this isnt for you, but if you want to learn how to handle a 4x4, it is well worth it

An excellent afternoon of fun in mud and water The instructor for the one to one experience was great. Everything was explained clearly and most of the time was spent driving. There was plenty of track and course to try out new skills and experience the capabilities of the vehicle. The whole booking process was easy and all the staff office and instructor team were helpful, friendly welcoming. Would highly recommend and would return to do again or try one of their other activities.
