About the experience

If you're looking for a wildlife experience, wildlife watching in West Sussex is one of the best options available. You'll get to spend around three hours on the stunning Cowdray private estate, which covers an area of 7500 hectares. Expert rangers will guide you to the best areas of the estate for wildlife spotting. Once you're there, all you need to do is settle down and wait quietly. Listen closely for any sounds of movement, such as the ruffling of leaves or the sound of small furry feet. Before you know it, you'll be face-to-face with badgers, hares, rabbits and Roe deer. It's truly a magical experience! For most of the wildlife experience, you'll be taken around in a 4x4 vehicle, so you won't have to do much walking. The visits are available between April and September. In winter, a thermos for hot drinks will be provided, and in summer, you'll be given estate-produced apple juice. If you're an early bird, you can opt for the dawn tour and see the animals at sunrise. Alternatively, if you prefer bats and badgers, you can go for an evening tour. During the evening tours, you'll get to observe the forests and woodlands come alive at dusk. All wildlife tours start and finish at the Cowdray Estate Golf Club. These wildlife outings are completely flexible and exclusive to you. You can choose to tour with a group of two, three or four people. Children are welcome, but they'll need to be quiet while waiting for the wildlife. The estate's rangers will adapt the safari to suit your group.
